Directed Optronics wins Navy SBIR

Today, NovaSol was informed that it had been awarded a Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) grant by the U.S. Navy for the Passive Optical Data Port (PODP) project which will investigate designs for advanced optical antennas to be used in conjunction with NovaSol's DMOI interrogators. These antennas employ modulating retroreflector technology. They will be used in ship-to-shore links enabling communications with covert shore-based naval assets. The PODP project is funded by NAVSEA.
