NovaSol, founded as Innovative Technical Solutions in October 1998, is a Hawaii-based, employee-owned company dedicated to providing best-value technical solutions to complex military, industrial, medical, and environmental problems.

NovaSol specializes in the research, engineering development, and productization of next-generation active and passive optical systems. These systems provide coverage of the entire spectrum from the ultraviolet to the infrared with panchromatic to ultraspectral resolution. In the execution of each program or project, NovaSol applies its core technical competencies in sensors, optics, navigation and stabilization, spectral and spatial algorithms, real-time systems, and data analysis.

NovaSol has a highly experienced and well-educated staff with approximately 25 percent holding doctorates, 25 percent holding master's degrees, and 40 percent holding bachelor's degrees. The average technical staff member has about 12 years' experience in relevant technologies.

NovaSol customers include the Navy, Army, the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA), the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Department of the Interior (DoI), the Counter Narcoterrorism Technology Program Office (CNTPO), the National Defense Center of Excellence for Research in Ocean Sciences (CEROS), NASA, and several Department of Defense prime contractors and other commercial companies.
